Today saw the opening of Tornadoes u14 season against a Berks Elite side playing up a year. Tornadoes started the game well taking control of the game early on. They moved the ball well in the early stages creating lots of space in behind and in possession. This allowed them Zak Fenton to drive into the space created and slot home to the bottom left corner for 1-0.
With their tales up and wind in the sails for a brief period passing became a little more sloppy and aimless. Berks Elite were able to grow more into the game at this point but by half time Tornadoes held on to a 1-0 lead.

Second half began sloppy and Tornadoes lost possession cheaply on the half way line which allowed Berks Elite to break down the left hand side and won themselves a free kick not far from the corner flag. A great delivery and a towering header leveled the game at 1-1. Tornadoes then responded and woke up and again managed to gain control of possession and started moving the ball well again. A really well worked move down the right hand side won Tornadoes a corner which was Delivered into the box and neatly tucked away by Barney Roberts for 2-1.

At this point Tornadoes were not willing to allow the game to slip away from them again. They managed the half well and were again rewarded for their determination when worked down the right hand side and Harlee Warren was able to slot home with the help of the Goalkeepers heel as it went through his legs to seal all 3 points on the opening day.

A good all round display and team effort. 2x Players of the match went to Noah Norris at left back for his tight man to man marking and winning of challenges enabling us to play forward and to Zak Fenton for a masterclass in the CDM role. Winning possession, playing through the lines and earning himself a goal.
